About Grace LaJoy

Author, Publisher, Speaker, Educator, Motivator, Songwriter, Poet

Poetry is just one part of the many gifts and talents of Dr. Grace LaJoy Henderson.  She also writes songs, stage plays, and books.  In January of 2004, she released her first book of poetry and writings entitled, More Than Mere Words: Poetry That Ministers! 

In September of 2005 Grace LaJoy completed her second book entitled, Writers Breakthrough: Steps To Copyright and Publish Your Own Book. Through this book, Grace LaJoy educates writers who know nothing about copyrighting and publishing their own book.  She has taught the material from this book as a 16-week course at a local Bible College.  Because of her desire to see other gifted writers encouraged and educated to utilize their talent, Grace LaJoy conducts an Annual Writer’s Breakthrough Workshop.

Education                                                                                                                            

Grace LaJoy has earned her PhD in Christian counseling, with an emphasis in Writing & Research and Leadership.  Her graduate degree is in Christian counseling and her undergraduate degree is in Social-Psychology.  In addition, she has earned an Associates degree in Office Management and has trained herself to do Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing.

Church/Volunteer   

Grace LaJoy has volunteered her time youth in her church as Youth Leader, Children’s Church Teacher, and Director of Youth Drama Department.  She has worked in the church kitchen and has served as alter worker.  In addition, she has served as design/layout assistant for the church’s newsletter.  Currently she serves on the poetry ministry at her church. 

Family/Personal Life
